Just tell Taby
Talk or type, in your own words. “I went for a run” or “another glass of water” is enough. Prefer tapping? The Habits page and Today have a check and a +1.
Habit tracker
Tell Taby what you did and it keeps count. It nudges you at the right time and shows your streaks. Free for Mac and Windows.

The short answer
Most habit trackers live on your phone, where you forget to open them. Taby lives at the top of your computer screen: you tell it what you did, it keeps count, nudges you when it’s time and shows your streaks. Private, offline and no account.
Say it, it’s tracked
“Add a habit: read 20 minutes every day”
Makes a daily habit you can tick off once a day.
“Track 8 glasses of water a day”
Makes a counted habit. Each glass adds one, until you hit eight.
“I just drank a glass of water”
Adds one to today’s count.
“Gym on Monday, Wednesday and Friday”
Makes a habit for just those days, so the others don’t count as missed.
“Meditate every morning, remind me at 8”
Makes the habit and nudges you at 8, with a little animation at the top of your screen.
“How are my habits going?”
Shows today’s progress and your streaks.
“I skipped yoga today”
Marks today as missed. Honest beats perfect.
“Pause my running habit, I’m on holiday”
Pauses it. Paused days don’t count as missed.
Why it sticks
Talk or type, in your own words. “I went for a run” or “another glass of water” is enough. Prefer tapping? The Habits page and Today have a check and a +1.
Give a habit a time and Taby nudges you then, right at the top of your screen: in the notch on a Mac, in a thin bar on Windows. Each habit can have its own animation.
Every day, weekdays only or the days you choose. Once a day, or a count like eight glasses of water. Away for a week? Pause it.
Each habit shows your current and best streak, your total and the last 12 weeks. Today puts your habits next to your tasks and calendar, so nothing slips.
Your habits stay on your own computer, and Taby’s local AI runs there too. It works offline, needs no account, and nothing you write is used to train models.
Taby’s local AI needs 8 GB of memory or more (a graphics card on Windows). If your computer can’t run it, Taby Cloud does that part instead.
Quick answers
Taby is one. Its habit tracker is part of the free desktop app for Apple Silicon Macs and Windows 10 and 11. Taby Cloud is an optional €8.99 a month upgrade; habits don’t need it.
No. Download Taby, open it, and say “add a habit”. The app and its local AI are free, with no account needed.
Tell Taby, by talking or typing: “I went for a run”, “I drank a glass of water”. Or tap the check or +1 on the Habits page or in Today, next to your tasks and calendar.
Yes. Give a habit a reminder time and Taby nudges you then, with a notification and a little animation at the top of your screen. You pick the animation when you make the habit.
Yes. Each habit shows your current streak, your best streak, how many times you’ve done it and the last 12 weeks at a glance.
Tell Taby you missed it and it’s marked missed: your progress for the day stays, and the streak starts again. Going away? Pause the habit, and paused days don’t count as missed.
You don’t fill in forms. You tell Taby what you want to build and what you did, in your own words, and it sets up the habit and keeps count. It never ticks a habit off by guessing from what you do on your computer; it counts what you tell it.
A habit is a routine you count, with progress and a streak, like eight glasses of water a day. A reminder is a nudge at a time, like “drink water every hour”. Taby does both, and you can use them together.
Your habits stay on your own computer, Taby works offline, and nothing you write is used to train models. The app sends content-free usage stats, like which features get used, and you can turn that off in Settings.
Download Taby for Mac or Windows, open it, and say “track 8 glasses of water a day”. Your habits stay on your own computer. No account.
