Hey Taby

To-do list

A modern to-do list you can just talk to

Say it, and it’s on your list. Taby helps you pick what to do next and fits it into your day. Free for Mac and Windows.

The short answer

Most to-do apps make you type, sort and plan it all yourself. With Taby, you just say it: it adds the task, sets the deadline, ticks it off and plans it into your day around your calendar. It lives at the top of your screen, works offline and needs no account.

Say it, it’s on the list

What you say, and what Taby does

  • “Add buy milk to my list”

Adds it to your tasks. One sentence, and it’s a task.

  • “Finish the report by Friday”

Adds the task with Friday as its deadline.

  • “Show my open tasks”

Lists what’s still to do, so you can tick things off as you go.

  • “I called Sam, tick it off”

    Marks the task done.

  • “Move the dentist call to tomorrow”

    Moves the task to tomorrow.

  • “Plan my day”

Puts your tasks into your day around your calendar, with the hard thing first while you’re fresh.

  • “Find an hour for the tax forms today”

Finds free time today and offers to lock it in.

  • “When should I do hard tasks?”

Answers from your own days, like the hours you focus best.

Why it’s different

A to-do list that helps you do it

Talk or type, in your own words

No forms, no fields. Say “finish the report by Friday” and Taby writes the task with its deadline. In a meeting? Type the same thing.

It plans it into your day

Say “plan my day” and Taby fits your tasks around your Google, Outlook or Apple calendar. Today and Week show your tasks, reminders and events in one place.

Right at the top of your screen

Your list isn’t hiding in another window. On a Mac, Taby lives in the notch. On Windows, a thin bar at the top opens into Taby. Move your mouse up and it’s there.

More than a checklist

Subtasks, deadlines with a day or an exact time, and reminders that actually fire. Forgot what you called a task? Taby finds it by what it’s about, not the exact words.

Private by default

Your tasks stay on your own computer, and Taby’s local AI runs there too. It works offline, needs no account, and nothing you write is used to train models.

Taby’s local AI needs 8 GB of memory or more (a graphics card on Windows). If your computer can’t run it, Taby Cloud does that part instead.

Quick answers

To-do list questions

Is Taby a free to-do list app?

Yes. The desktop app, its to-do list and the local AI are free, and you don’t need an account. Taby Cloud is an optional €8.99 a month upgrade with a bigger brain, web search and very accurate voice in 100+ languages. Your to-do list doesn’t need it.

Can I add tasks by talking?

Yes. Say “add buy milk to my list” and it’s there. Taby’s local voice listens in 8 languages right on your computer, and Taby Cloud voice works in 100+. You can always type instead.

Is it a to-do list app with reminders?

Yes. Tasks can have a deadline, a day or an exact time, and Taby’s reminders actually fire: a notification pops up and Taby shows it at the top of your screen. You can also ask for a reminder on its own, like “remind me to call Mom at 6”.

Can Taby help me decide what to do first?

Yes. Say “plan my day” and Taby lays out your tasks around your Google, Outlook or Apple calendar, with the hard thing first while you’re fresh. Ask “find an hour for this today” and it finds free time. It can also tell you which hours you usually focus best, from your own days.

Does the to-do list work offline?

Yes. Your tasks live on your computer and the local AI runs there too, so you can add, tick off and plan with the Wi-Fi off. Only Taby Cloud extras, like web search, need the internet.

Is it a to-do list app for Mac and Windows?

Both. On a Mac (Apple Silicon), Taby lives in the notch at the top of the screen. On Windows 10 and 11, a thin bar at the top opens into Taby. Linux is coming.

Where are my tasks stored?

On your own computer. Nothing you write is used to train AI models. The app sends content-free usage stats, like which features get used, and you can turn that off in Settings.

Can I break a big task into smaller steps?

Yes. A task can have subtasks, a description and links. When you’re ready to start, you can begin a focus session right from the task.

Say it. It’s on the list.

Download Taby for Mac or Windows, open it, and say “add buy milk to my list”. Your tasks stay on your own computer. No account.
